This English countryside of ours is beautiful. I love the kaleidoscopic colours of the fields: green meadows sprinkled with all the colours of Spring flowers, golden sunlit wheat fields, lavender fields, and the rich, dark umber of just-ploughed fields. Then there are the ancient, shady lanes with delightful names like Tea Garden Lane and Cabbage Stalk Lane. And who's spirit cannot be lifted by a walk through bluebell woods accompanied by blackbirds' song! Soaring cliffs and the sea, wild on one coast and tranquil on another.
There are, of course those grey-sky, rainy days when indoors in the warm with the radio playing is exactly where I want to be. Then I put together a still life and get out my best colours!
